    \"thermocamera\"The infrared (IR) thermography is a non destructive method for Material Testing. This method relies on the measurement of the IR radiation emitted from materials and its correlation with their temperature. Thus, the temperature distribution on the materials surface is detected, quantified and visualised. Thermography of a considered structural element can be conducted from distance with the help of the so called thermographic cameras. [1]<\/sup><\/p>

    The analysis and interpretation of the data acquired from Thermography consist one of the most reliable diagnostic methods of Engineering Mechanics to assess the condition of a structure, an infrastructure network (water supply, sewage disposal, heating, cooling, electrical) or an engine, both static and dynamic. With IR thermographic tools deployed the damage prediction and prevention is more feasible than ever.<\/p>

    Thermography can be applied in numerous cases. The most common concern buildings and their equipment and are listed as follows:<\/p>

    • efficiency and sufficiency evaluation of thermal insulation or verification of its absence airtightness control<\/li>
    • watertightness control<\/li>
    • casing airtightness control<\/li>
    • moisture and water inflow detection<\/li>
    • pipe network leakage detection<\/li>
    • embedded pipe network leakage detection and operation control (water supply, sewage disposal, heating, floor heating pipes)<\/li>
    • electrical installations control<\/li>
    • machinery and associated equipment control<\/li>
    • photovoltaic installations control<\/li>
    • building materials discontinuity detection<\/li>
    • structural members hidden wear detection<\/li>
    • buildings energy efficiency assessment<\/li>
    • on-target energy efficiency upgrade building design<\/li><\/ul>

      \"ygrasia\"Moisture is a major threat to buildings as it can cause extremely problematic situations on them. Its presence can induce physical, mechanical and chemical deterioration of materials, reduce or even eliminate the insulation ability of thermal insulation and form, if in high concentration, unhealthy internal environment which in turn impairs human health or makes existing health problems even worse.<\/p>

      In order to address effectively the moisture it is necessary, first and foremost, to detect its origin and nature. This can be done with hygrometry that is the measurement of humidity within a material. Conducting a non destructive moisture control on a structural member with a hygrometer results in moisture detection and humidity gauge. It is then possible to identify the nature and agents of moisture along with the extent of the damage that it has caused within the structure if hygrometry and thermography combine. On target and definite solutions against the rigorous problem of moisture can be found only if data from hygrometry and thermography are provided together.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

      Our office has cutting-edge technical equipment for distance measurements and point tracing\/mapping even if the access to the edge points of a particular distance is not possible or there is no optical contact amongst them. It is sufficient just to have optical contact between the measuring device (as long as it is located within a 300 m range from the endpoints of the length to be measured) and the endpoints themselves. The device is equipped with an embedded camera with zoom capabilities up to 400% and crosshair for targeting points. In addition, distances between points that are not visible can be measured as long as apparent points lie on the same vertical axis with the hidden points to be traced.<\/p>

      Drawing files are generated during the point tracing process depicting the points in 3d space, plan view or any other two-dimensional view. At the same time a photo of each target point is taken and the time datum of the shoot is registered as well in the system. Thus, the Engineer acts as if he was continuously \"present\" in the survey site.
